How CarFix handles data
Last updated: July 13, 2026
This policy explains the information CarFix uses when a driver searches for a provider, uses assisted intake, opens the demo experience, claims a listing, or creates a booking request. It is written for the current garage and car-wash search experience and will be updated as additional regions and provider integrations are introduced.
What CarFix is
CarFix helps drivers compare workshops and car washes, understand likely service categories, and contact or book suitable providers. Directory listings, provider profiles, demo-mode accounts, and partner request flows are separated so users always know whether they are using public search or a clearly labelled demo experience.
Information we use
For search and triage we may use postcode, vehicle make, model, year, powertrain, selected services, issue description, optional photos, and basic interaction events such as provider profile views or contact clicks. If a booking request is made, we collect the name, email address, phone number, vehicle details, requested service, appointment preference, and customer note needed to handle that request.
Directory and provider information
Provider profiles can include business contact details, opening information, services, brands, classification, ratings, review counts, map links, and reviewed listing information. Claims such as official brand service, make experience, or specialist work are shown only when supported by reviewed provider, manufacturer, business, or approved directory information.
AI-assisted intake
The intake assistant is designed to suggest likely service categories, urgency, safe checks before visiting a provider, and indicative price ranges. It is not a diagnosis, emergency service, or binding quote. Safety rules run before optional AI assistance, and urgent cases are routed to stop-and-recover guidance.
Accounts and demo mode
Account areas keep requests, bookings, and provider workspace activity separate by role. Demo mode is clearly labelled. Sample requests, profile edits, and status changes stay inside the demo experience and are not treated as real appointments with a provider.
Maps, analytics, and communications
Maps and provider links may open third-party services such as Google Maps. If you consent, CarFix uses Google Analytics to measure page views and privacy-limited product interactions such as opening a provider profile or contact link. Google may process analytics data outside Switzerland. CarFix does not send names, email addresses, phone numbers, diagnostic descriptions, search text, photos, or vehicle details to Google Analytics. Analytics remains off until consent is accepted and can be disabled below. Essential storage is used for security, preferences, and account sessions.
Retention and control
Search inputs and demo state are kept only as long as needed for the product experience. Booking and claim records are kept for support, audit, and provider follow-up. You can request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information by contacting CarFix.
Analytics preference
Google Analytics is currently disabled on this device.
Protected forms use Cloudflare Turnstile in invisible mode to distinguish legitimate visitors from automated abuse. No verification box is shown during normal use. Cloudflare describes this processing in its Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
CarFix’s role, AI and pricing limits, and booking rules are described in the terms of use.
